The wedding
They will be married on January 1st at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in downtown Asheville. The reception will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church following the ceremony.
Michael is an Infantry Officer and is currently stationed in Germany. Merideth is in graduate school at the Petrie school of Music at Converse College. She will graduate in the spring with a degree in Vocal Performance with a concentration in opera. She will join him in Germany for her "January term" and then return to Spartanburg to finish her degree.
Michael is scheduled to be deployed to Afghanistan in July.

The Beginning
Starting graduate school at a Woman's College left Merideth with a chance to truly focus on her opera performance career without male distractions. In the spring of 2009 Michael however happened to come on campus (he was stationed at Fort Benning for Officer's training school) with a friend. The Olive Garden brought these two together after church on a beautiful spring day. Love at first sight for Michael and for Merideth...well...Michael had his work cut out for him. With many emails, texts and phone calls the friendship blossomed. Michael and his corvette made many more journeys down interstate 85. His charm, wit, good looks, intellect and musical talent finally won Merideth over. On July 11 he proposed and she accepted!
- A brief history
- Merideth was born in Portland Maine. However,Asheville and her Dad's school(Asheville Christian Academy) has been her home most of her life. She went to Carson Newman College and received her degree in Music Education. She is continuing her education at Converse College pursuing her Masters degree in Opera Performance. She should graduate in the spring of 2010. Michael was born in Philadelphia, Pa but grew up in Cologne, New Jersey. He graduated from West Point in 2009 with a degree in computer science He played football for West Point and was the captain of the trap and skeet team. He was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in the US Armed Forces. He currently is stationed in Germany.He is scheduled to be deployed to Afghanistan in the late spring
